Box Score BOCA RATON, FL - One of the longest streaks in collegiate tennis came to an end and another carried on strong as fourth-ranked Barry came from behind and stole a match from third-ranked Lynn, 5-4 at the McCusker Tennis Complex on Thursday.

It was the first loss for the Lynn women's tennis team against any Sunshine State Conference opponent since the school joined the NCAA in 1997, a streak of 41 consecutive wins. The Buccaneers, however, extended their school-record winning streak to 19 matches and clinched the top seed at the SSC Tournament April 19-22 in Lakeland, Fla.

The Buccaneers (19-3) were aggressive early winning two of three doubles points. The Knights' #3-ranked team of Monika Mastalirova and Marie Barbier held on for a 9-7 win at the top flight, but the Bucs came back to win the bottom two flights by identical 8-5 scores.

The Fighting Knights (15-3) quickly tied the match as sophomore Monse Palacios won in straight sets at No. 5 singles over Ewa Kleczek, but then Courmes scored a 6-2, 6-2 upset of #2-ranked Monika Mastalirova.

The Knights claimed a win at number three singles and posted a three-set win at number six. However, senior Bojana Miladinovic carried two sets in tie-breakers, 7-6, 7-6, over Bucke Yavuz at number four.

Lynn's Marie Barbier ran out of gas at number two after being up a set and 4-1 in the second and Gizella Turbok rallied for a 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 win. One minute after Yavuz was defeated, Turbok beat Barbier for the match.

Up next for the Buccaneers will be the SSC Championship on April 18-20.
