Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MAGNOLIA, Ark. -- After stretching the opening game of a double-header to ten innings, the Barry University softball team ended the day with a sweep over the Southern Arkansas Riderettes 4-1, and 12-0.

In the first game, the Riderettes jumped on the board first when Danielle McCrae scored on a passed ball. That was all the action SAU's team would see crossing home plate the rest of the day.

Late in the sixth, Hillary Hamilton hit a sacrifice fly scoring Heather Hodges tying the game at one a piece. However, the battle of the pitchers would continue until the tenth inning when Sarah White hit a two-RBI double giving the Bucs the lead. White then scored on a costly SAU error extending the Bucs' lead to 4-1, which was all they needed for the win.

Geralyn Elam (8-1) earned her fourth win of the week in five games going the distance (ten innings) giving up one unearned run on three hits and struck out seven. A team loss was given to SAU.

In the second game, the Buccaneers' bats came alive late in the game scoring two in the fifth and eight in the sixth innings defeating the Riderettes 12-0. The game was called in the sixth because of the NCAA mercy rule.

Lindsey Rhodes (2-3) earned the win for the Bucs in game two in one of her best outings this season. She hurled a six-inning shutout giving up three hits and three walks, while striking out ten. Kim Martin (2-3) took the loss for the Riderettes giving up four runs on six hits, four walks, and four strikeouts.

The Bucs rapped out 11 hits led by K.D. Smith who went two-for-four with two RBI and a run scored. Jenny Miranda went two-for-three with an RBI and a run scored while Heather Hodges and Rhodes both went one-for-two at the plate with a run scored.

With today's wins, the Buccaneers improve to 13-5 overall while the Riderettes fell to 9-16. Both teams will resume action for a third meeting in Magnolia, Ark. slated for 2 p.m.
