Baseball Pillages Knights

Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers pillaged the Nova Southeastern Knights 11-3 at Feinbloom Field Tuesday night.

The Buccaneers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, keyed by back-to-back doubles by Joglys Ramos and Luis Boullon.

The Bucs added two runs in the third inning on a solo homer by Rey Fuentes and a run-scoring double play by Boullon.

Barry added three runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth.

The Bucs rapped out 14 hits, led by Ramos who went four-for-four with a double and four RBI. Fuentes added three hits as did Alex Lorenzo.

Jeff Rodriguez accounted for two of the Knights three runs with a two-run shot in the fifth.

Jon Sandola (1-0) earned the win for the Bucs with 7.2 innings. He allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out nine. Brad Gilliatt (2-3) took the loss for the Knights. He allowed seven hits and three walks leading to seven earned runs. He struck out one.

The Bucs improve to 9-7, while the Knights drop to 6-12. Barry hosts West Chester on Wednesday, March 6 at 6:00 pm.
