Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Down by one going into the eighth inning, the Barry University baseball team scored five runs in the bottom of the inning shooting down the Lewis University Flyers 10-6 in game two of a three-game series earlier tonight at Fienbloom Field.
John Vinciguerra (2-0) earned his second win of the season coming in the game as a reliever. He threw 4.1 innings giving up only two hits, two walks, and struck out seven. Alex Gonzalez got the starting nod throwing 4.2 innings giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits, four walks, while striking out five. Nathan Bradley (0-1) took the loss for the Flyers giving up two runs including the go ahead run on two hits in the eighth.
Joey Apotheker paced the Bucs going two-for-three with three RBI, while Luis Boullon also went two-for-three. Joglys Ramos and Billy Zoffinger each tallied two-run homers. Alex Lorenzo added a two-for-five performance including a game-tying RBI double in the bottom of the eighth.
The Flyers were led by Tom Knapczyk who went three-for-four at the plate.
The Buccaneers improved to 8-6 overall, while the flyers fell to 1-2. Both teams will resume play for the final game of a three-game series Sunday, Mar. 3 at 1 p.m.
