Baseball Massacres Pioneers

Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Led by Rey Fuentes' three doubles and three RBI, the Buccaneers massacred the William Patterson Pioneers 12-2 earlier tonight at Feinbloom Field.

The Buccaneers rapped out 16 hits and scored in six of nine innings en route to victory.

Keith Hameister (3-1) earned the win for the Buccaneers hurling eight innings, while giving up two runs on eight hits, while striking out seven. Geoff DeGennaro finished things off for the Bucs in the ninth giving up one hit and struck out one. Charlie Bowman (0-1) took the loss for the Pioneers throwing three innings giving up eight runs (six earned) on six hits with five walks and two strikeouts.

Fuentes led the Bucs at the plate going three-for-three in his first three plate appearances, with three doubles and three RBI. He finished the day going three-for-five. Chris Casale was also three-for-five with a double and two RBI, while Alex Lorenzo added his third homer of the season and his third in the last three games.

The Buccaneers improved to 13-8 overall, while the Pioneers fall to 3-1. The Bucs leave the friendly confines of Feinbloom Field for the first time in nine games for a three-game road stint facing off with North Dakota State at 9 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 16.
