Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers quieted the Tri-State Thunder 12-3 at Feinbloom Field Sunday afternoon.
Fernando Tapia (4-1) pitched eight strong innings for the Bucs, allowing only three unearned runs on six hits and one walk, while striking out six. He set down 13 straight batters from the third to the seventh innings.
Jason Meier (0-1) took the loss for the Thunder (1-2), allowing four runs, one earned, on six hits and one walk. He struck out five in 5.0 innings.
The Bucs smashed the game open with a seven-run seventh inning. Luis Boullon and Joglys Ramos each supplied RBI doubles in the frame.
Boullon had three hits to pace the attack. Billy Zoffinger, Joey Apotheker and Brian Lima each added two hits. Apotheker drove in three.
Barry (11-8) will host Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
