Box Score MELBOURNE, Fla. -- The Barry University men's basketball season came to a close earlier this afternoon after falling to the Rollins College Tars 65-51 earlier this afternoon at the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, hosted by Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla.
In the first half, the Buccaneers grabbed an early 11-4 lead with 15:22 remaining, but the Tars rallied back to claim the lead 28-26 with 3:25 left and went into the half ahead 35-28. The Tars never let go of the lead fending off the Bucs to advance to the second round 65-51.
Yorell Calderon led all scorers with 15 points, on five three-pointers, all in the first half. Andres Alfonso followed with 11 points and Curtis Tonge finished with 10. Bryan Mills grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Tars were paced by Austin Kegerreis with 12 points, while teammate Eric Faber pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
The Bucs end their 2001-02 campaign with a 14-12 overall record, while finishing fifth in the SSC at 7-7.
