Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University baseball team scored 16 runs on 12 hits clipping the Mercy College Flyers 16-12 earlier this afternoon at Fienbloom Field.
Keith Hameister (1-1) registered his first win of the season hurling 6.0 innings giving up three runs on eight hits, while striking out six. Gerry Guarch earned his first save of the season throwing the final 2.1 innings giving up three hits and one run. Tim Foley (0-1) took the loss for the Flyers.
The Bucs were led by Joey Apotheker who went 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, and scoring four times. Billy Zoffinger also went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and three RBI, while Joglys Ramos added a double and two RBI.
The Flyers were led by Matt Foley who went 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBI.
The Buccaneers improved to 5-5 while the Flyers fell to 0-5. The Bucs will return to action on Tuesday, Feb 19 hosting Florida Memorial at Fienbloom Field at 6:00 p.m.
