Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University men's basketball team corralled the Florida Memorial Lions 62-41 earlier this afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.

The Buccaneers used a Lion turnover in the first minute of play to jump out to an early 11-6 lead at the 12:01 mark in the first half. Led by Luis Vazquez-Bello and Nick Ellingsworth-Perez's nine points and six rebounds apiece in the first half, the Bucs extended their lead to 33-21 at halftime.

In the second half, the Lions trimmed the lead to seven at 18:26 left to play. However, the Bucs potent defense shutdown the Lion attack as the Bucs cruised to a 62-41 victory and extending their winning streak to five games.

Vazquz-Bello paced the Buccaneer efforts with a season-high 21 points, while also finishing with 7 boards. Andres Alfonso chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds and Ellingsworth-Perez pulled down a game-high 12 boards.

Donnell Johnson led the Lions with 11 points.

The Buccaneers improved to 5-0 on the season, while the Lions fell to 2-10. The Bucs will return to hoop action on Friday, Dec. 13 at Nova Southeastern at 7 pm.
