Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Barry University men's basketball team crushed the Puerto Rico-Cayey Toritos (0-7) 80-46 earlier this afternoon at the Palm Beach Sunshine Hoops Challenge hosted by Lynn University. The Buccaneers are also off to the best start in school history improving to 8-0.

At the 11:11 mark in the first half, the Bucs held a commanding 22-9 lead, but the Toritos went on a 18-7 run sparked by a Ricardo Santiago three-pointer to cut the lead to three. The Bucs were able to limit the Toritos scoring opportunities in the final four minutes and extended their lead to 38-27 at the half.

The Bucs opened up the second half with a 34-9 run taking control of the game 72-36. Shooting 59 percent from the field in the second half, the Bucs celebrated their largest winning margin this season at 80-46, while also holding the Toritos to a mere 19 points in the second half.

Yorell Calderon led a host of six players with 12 points, while Bryan Mills, Luis Vazquez-Bello, and Nick Ellingsworth-Perez added 10 apiece. Both Teddy Sindoris and Andres Alfonso came in off the bench to add 11 each.

Off to their best start in school history the 8-0 Buccaneers are two games shy of posting the longest win streak in Barry history. The Bucs hope to make history facing off with Franklin Pierce in the Palm Beach Classic on Friday at 5 pm and then Indianapolis on Saturday.
