Box Score FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--The Barry men's basketball team complimented their trademark defense with some blistering shooting to smother the Nova Southeastern Knights 69-63 Friday night at Mayer Gym.

Barry led 49-35 with 11:50 left in the second half after a driving layup by Luis Vazquez-Bello. But the Knights would not concede and chipped away at the lead until they cut it to one basket at 63-60 with :27 seconds left to play on a Kluis Wimbush three-pointer.

But the Bucs, who hit only two-for-six from the free throw line in the first half, nailed six-of-six free throws, all by Bryan Mills, down the stretch and shutout the Knights after Wimbush's three until Traavis Chandler hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to complete the scoring.

Vazquez-Bello led all scorers with 18 points, while Mills added 15 points and six assists. Andres Alfonso came off the bench to hit four-of-five from three-point range, scoring 14. Brandon Weiss led Nova with 15 points, Wimbush added 13 and Zak Kirchgassner had 11.

Barry shot a season-high 57.8 percent from the field.

Barry continues perfect on the season at 6-0, while Nova drops to 2-7. Barry travels across town to face the Lions of Florida Memorial on Saturday at 7:00 pm
