Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry men's basketball swung by the Tarzans of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez 85-67 in the Health & Sports Center Friday night to open the 2002-03 season.

The Bucs trailed 41-36 at the half but went on a quick 11-4 run to open the second period and put them up 47-45. After an Andres Alfonso layup with 14:12 left, the made the score 51-50 in favor of the Bucs, Barry never trailed. They continued to extend the lead to the final margin of 18 points.

Bryan Mills and Nick Ellingsworth-Perez led the Bucs with 16 points each, while Luis Vazquez-Bello and Yorell Calderon had 13 apiece. Luis Hilerio led the Tarzans with 17, while Flor Melendez added 15 and Francisco Llovet had 13.

The Bucs (1-0) opened their home schedule with a win for the third straight year. The Tarzans drop to 0-1.
