ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference released their weekly volleyball honors on Tuesday morning with two Bucs being recognized for their efforts from September 1-6. Barry's Veronika Eremeeva and Ivana Zujovic picked up their first honors of the season as the offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively.

Eremeeva earned her fourth career offensive player of the week award after leading the Bucs to a 3-0 week at the Buccaneer Invitational, including taking down the top-ranked St. Cloud State. The junior recorded 32 kills while hitting .366 over the three matches, adding 14 service aces, 13 digs, and six blocks. Against SCSU the Russian delivered 13 kills on .480 hitting with just one attack error. Against Converse, the service game was stellar with a career-high seven aces, knocking down four in a row, she then added six more against Lubbock Christian nailing three in a row. Overall, Eremeeva has moved to sixth all-time for service aces and was also named to the All-Tournament team for the weekend.

Zujovic has been named the defensive player of the week for the third time in her career, after delivering a huge performance at the net. The senior had 14 blocks, 11 coming in the five-set thriller against #1 St. Cloud State. This tied her own record for most in a match in program history. Four of the 11 blocks came in the fifth set, including back-to-back blocks to close out the match. The other three blocks from the weekend came in the one set she played in against Converse. The Tampa-native's 243 block assists now has her sitting tied for eighth all time in Barry history. Overall, Zujovic averaged two blocks per set for the weekend.

Barry will have a slower week with the lone match on Saturday, September 12 at the Embry-Riddle Invitational taking on Lewis at 1:00 p.m. from the ICI Center in Daytona Beach, FL.
