ORLANDO, Fla.- Barry Senior golfer Leonie Sinnhuber was named the Sunshine State Conference women's golfer of the week for the week of Sep. 24. The award, which is presented by Pollo Compero, is her first of the season and third of her career.

Sinnhuber led Barry to its first season-opening tournament victory since the 2018-19 season, earning first place after shooting a 71-70-75 for a 216 total. Sinnhuber was the only player in the tournament to finish even and recorded the lowest round out of all participants on both days. The victory marked the second first-place finish of her collegiate career. The Senior also tied for first in par-3 scoring at two under and finished first in par-4 scoring at one over. She added nine birdies to tie for second overall in the category and recorded 37 total pars to tie for fifth.

The Bucs are playing at the DBU Classic in Dallas, Texas, from Monday, Sep. 28 to Tuesday, Sep. 29.
