MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Second-year head coach Allison Bustamante announced the first signee for the 2026-27 class for Barry women's basketball in 5-10 freshman forward Taryn Bussinger.
"Taryn brings elite athleticism and versatility to our program," Busamante said. "Her ability to create chaos defensively and score at all three levels makes her one of the most exciting young players in this class."
Bussinger played at Lake Travis High in Austin, Texas, helping lead team to a 23-12 record her senior year. She earned First-team All-District 26-6A honors and District 26-6A Offensive Player of the Year, after averaging 12 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assist, 1.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game.
"I chose Barry University because I felt welcomed and appreciated from the moment I met the coaching staff, and could really see myself growing as a player and person at Barry," Bussinger said.
The Bucs are looking to get back to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament in 2026-27.
