MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The women's basketball team welcomes 6-2 junior forward Gabi Hoover to the 2026-27 team, head coach Allison Bustamante announced today.
"Gabi brings a unique combination of size, shooting, and versatility to our program," Bustamante said. "Her ability to stretch the floor and defend multiple positions allows us to play through different lineups and makes her a key piece in how we want to play."
Hoover played in 31 of 32 games as a freshman as the Flyers went 23-9 and earned a berth in the NCAA Midwest Regional. Although she missed the 2024-25 season, she returned in 2025-26 to start the first 18 games of the season before missing the rest of the campaign. She averaged 4.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, shooting 44.1 percent from the floor, including 34.1 from behind the arc, and 80 percent from the line. Hoover was a college teammate of current Buccaneer Ally Cesarini at Lewis.
"I chose Barry because it felt like home right away," Hoover said. "The coaching staff believed in me, and I knew it was the best place to keep growing and competing at a high level."
The Bucs are looking to get back to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament in 2026-27.
