MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – This week, Barry head women's soccer coach Jay Harris has unveiled the schedule for the 2026 season.
"It's going to be a challenge this fall, with the construction project at the field," Harris said, "but I think we've put together a really good set of games. Hopefully, we'll get back onto new Buccaneer Field by the end of the season."
The Buccaneers have 18 games this fall, with eight of them being home away from home games due to construction at Buccaneer Field. The Bucs will utilize two facilities for the "home" games: Spartan Stadium at Monsignor Pace High in Miami Gardens, Fla., and MDC Soccer Stadium at Miami-Dade College in Kendall, Fla.
After three exhibition games, the season starts on the road to Miami Gardens, Fla., to face Florida Memorial at Dr. Lester Brown Park on Thursday, Aug. 27. The Buccaneers hold an overall record of 4-1 against the Lions, winning last season's meeting 1-0.
On Sunday, Aug. 30 Barry hosts South Carolina-Beaufort at Spartan Stadium. It is the first meeting in program history with the Sand Sharks, who were formerly coached by Harris. USCB went 9-6-4 last season, making the Peach Belt Conference tournament.
Barry is on the road for four straight before conference play begins. They have trips to Southern Wesleyan (Sept. 2), Spartanburg Methodist (Sept. 4), Middle Georgia State (Sept. 6), and Ave Maria (Sept. 11). It is the ever meeting with Southern Wesleyan and Spartanburg Methodist. Last season's match ended in a 2-2 tie with Middle Georgia State in the first-meeting in the series and Barry won last season's first-ever meeting with Ave Maria 5-0.
The Buccaneers begin conference play hosting Palm Beach at Spartan Stadium on Sept. 16. Barry holds a 19-1-3 overall record with the Sailfish, after the programs played twice last season, both ending in 0-0 ties. PBA finished 3-8-5 last season, missing the conference tournament.
On Saturday, Sept. 19 Barry travels to Daytona Beach, Fla., for a meeting with Embry-Riddle. Last season's meeting ended in a 0-0 tie, giving the Bucs an overall record of 4-6-2 against the Eagles. Embry-Riddle went 6-3-9 last season, making the conference tournament.
The Buccaneers host reigning SSC champion, and cross-town rival, Nova Southeastern on Wednesday. Sept. 23 at MDC Soccer Stadium. Barry lost both meetings with the Sharks last season but still hold a 24-10-6 overall record. NSU went 16-1-4 last season, winning the SSC regular season and tournament titles for the first time and making the third round of the NCAA tournament.
Barry closes out September with a trip to face the Tampa Spartans at Pepin Field on Sept. 26. Barry holds a 19-11-7 edge in the series, after playing to a 0-0 draw last season. The Spartans went 5-7-4 last year, finishing sixth in the SSC and falling in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
As the second month of the season dawns, the Bucs host the Saint Leo Lions on Oct. 3 at Spartan Stadium. The Lions and Bucs played to a 0-0 tie last season for the second time in three years. The Bucs own a 17-8-3 edge in the series. Saint Leo went 3-9-3 last year and finished 10th in the conference, missing the tournament.
On Oct. 7, Barry hosts the reigning national champions, Florida Tech, at MDC Soccer Stadium. Tech went 17-3-6 to capture their first national championship last fall. The Bucs fell 3-0 in the regular season finale, to drop to 11-13-6 against the Panthers.
The Bucs venture up to Winter Park, Fla., on Oct. 10 to take on the Rollins Tars. Rollins went 7-6-4 last year, falling to Florida Tech in the SSC Tournament semifinals. Barry leads the Tars 23-9-5 in the overall series, after a 0-0 tie last season.
Barry faces arch-rival Lynn on Oct. 14 in Boca Raton, Fla. Barry won 2-0 last season at Buccaneer Field, running the overall series record to 29-17-2. Lynn finished last in the conference after going 2-10-4.
Barry hosts a non-conference game against Edward Waters on Oct. 17 at Spartan Stadium. Barry has won all four meetings with the Tigers in a series that began in 2023. Last year, the Bucs won 2-1, as the Tigers went 6-11-1.
The Bucs play host to Eckerd on Oct. 21 at MDC Soccer Stadium. The Tritons finished second in the SSC last year, going 7-5-5 overall and 6-2-2 in conference. The tie Rollins in the SSC quarterfinals, but the Tars advanced on penalty kicks. The teams played to a 0-0 draw in St. Petersburg, last year. Barry owns a 28-4-3 series edge over the Tritons.
Barry closes out the SSC schedule at Florida Southern on Oct. 24. The Moccasins were 9-3-6 last year, including a 0-0 tie with the Bucs. They lost in the SSC semifinals to eventual champs, Nova Southeastern. The Bucs lead the Mocs 19-8-3 all-time.
Barry plays its final game of the regular season on Oct. 29 against the Florida National Conquistadors. The game is scheduled to be the first of the season on new Buccaneer Field. The Bucs have won all five meetings, including a 5-0 win last year. The Conqs were 3-8-1 last season.
The Sunshine State Conference Tournament runs Nov. 2-8, with the NCAA post-season selections set for Nov. 9.
