MIAMI SHORES, Fla.— Former soccer assistant Gonzalo Rudolf returns to Barry University as the assistant women's soccer coach, director of athletics Dr. Scott Smith announced today.

Rudolf comes back to Barry after spending last season as the head women's coach at nearby Florida National, leading the Conquistadors to a 3-8-1 record.

Originally from Argentina, Rudolf spent five seasons as a part-time assistant coach for the Buccaneers before making the move to FNU. Rudolf joined the Buccaneer staff in the spring of 2020 and helped lead Barry to a successful run in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Under head coach Petsa Ivanovic, Rudolf and Barry won the SSC regular season men's championships in back-to-back seasons (2022 and 2023), made a national Final Four appearance in 2022 and won the SSC Tournament in 2023.

In 2023, Rudolf was honored as a member of The Sunshine State Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. Rudolf was instrumental in Barry going 38-30-6 on the pitch with a conference record of 23-12-3 over its past five seasons.

Along with his NCAA D-Il resume, Rudolf worked as the head of team coordination and coach for Paris Saint-Germain Academy (2022-2025), Miami Shores Soccer Club (2021) and Cyclone Soccer Hollywood (2017-2021). Rudolf served as the head coach of the United Soccer League (USL)'s FC Miami City women's soccer team and as an assistant coach in the organization from 2022 to 2025.

He has also served as the head soccer coach, keeper trainer and community manager for Cyclones Soccer Hollywood. As the head coach, he is responsible for making and administering the schedule, developing core soccer strategies through training sessions and recruiting players to the club. As community manager, he oversees the social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing priorities. He creates content and engages with supporters through the channels.

Notably, the 2021 season saw Rudolf become a district champion with Avant Garde Academy while managing the school's middle school squad.

Rudolf was a talented soccer player in his own right, playing collegiately at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala., in 2017 before transferring to Johnson & Wales University in Miami for three seasons. He later suited up for Miami, A.C. in the NPSL.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports, Events and Entertainment Management from JWU in 2020.
