MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Another senior transfer joins head coach Allison Bustamante's team for 2026-27 as Dominique Garcia Blackwood transfers in for the upcoming season.

"Dominique is a versatile player with a high basketball IQ, and we're excited about the flexibility her skill set gives us on both ends of the floor, " Bustamante said. "Her ability to shoot, handle the basketball, and facilitate for her teammates makes her an outstanding fit for what we're building at Barry."

Garcia Blackwood played two seasons at NCAA Division I Fairleigh Dickinson in New Jersey, posting 36-minute averages of 10.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals as a sophomore before missing a year due to injury. She returned to play at NAIA Florida Memorial last season, averaging 6.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals as the Lions went 16-9.

Originally from the Canary Islands, she was a two-time Spanish national champion in 2021 and 2022 and won two bronze and a silver medal while representing the Canary Islands in international competition.

"Barry has been on my radar for a long time since I first decided to transfer to Florida," Garcia Blackwood said. "My coach even advised me to reach out as she thought we would be a good fit. It took me two years to catch Coach Allison's attention but it couldn't have come at a better time! I'm excited to contribute to a winning project at Barry in my final year in the USA."

The Bucs are looking to get back to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament in 2026-27.
