EVANSVILLE, IN - Two members of the Barry men's swimming team wrapped up their performances at the NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday, March 14. Both
Teo Puig and
Wiktor Wisniewski competed in the tournament. Puig earned Second Team All-American honors in both the men's 1,000 freestyle and the men's 1,650 freestyle. Wisniewski also secured Second Team All-American recognition after his performance in the men's 200 freestyle.
On the second day of the tournament, Puig competed in the men's 1,000 freestyle, finishing 15th with a time of 9:08.28. Puig returned to the pool on the fourth day for the men's 500 freestyle preliminaries, where he placed 25th with a time of 4:29.24, recording the second-fastest mark in program history for the event. On the final day of the championships, both Puig and Wisniewski were in action. Puig swam in the men's 1,650 freestyle and finished ninth with a time of 15:17.41, breaking his own school record in the event. Wisniewski competed in the men's 200 breaststroke, placing 16th with a time of 2:00.68, which is now the fourth-fastest time in program history.
