MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry men's volleyball took their first loss in over a month, ending an eight-match win streak against Long Island University from the Health and Sports Center on Tuesday evening. This is the first time this season they have been on the receiving end of a sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - Elias Fuhrer scored the first point of the match with a kill down the middle. The teams traded points until LIU was able to string together five-straight to gain space and ride away with the set. The Sharks came out hitting .441 in the set with 16 kills, while the Bucs had 12 kills and hit .226. | LIU 25, Barry 17
- Set Two - The Sharks jumped out on top first in the second set with three straight points and a 5-1 run. The deficit remained as the Buccaneer offense struggled. Barry put up seven kills and hit negative, with nine attacking errors, five on the block from LIU. | LIU 25, Barry 15
- Set Three - It seemed like the Bucs had the momentum on their side starting the set with the first two points. Joao Piazza Baumgartem got a service aces to spark some fuel on the Barry side. The Bucs held the lead for the majority of the set and ready to force a fourth. The Sharks however had other plans as they scored six-straight to flip the scoreboard from 20-17 to 23-20 in their favor. The final two points from Barry came off errors from LIU. | LIU 25, Barry 22
NOTEWORTHY:
- Jacob Strnisa had his 13th double digit kill performance
- Piazza Baumgartem had his eighth 20-plus assist match this season.
- He also added seven digs to lead the way.
