CHICAGO, Ill.— The Buccaneers Men's Volleyball team traveled to the windy city to take on Roosevelt in game one of a back-to-back match weekend. Barry fell in four sets after winning the first one and move to 1-1 on the year. This was the Lakers first win on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - Barry opened up on fire with a 4-0 run. The defense moved quickly with a block from Elias Fuhrer and Philip Tein to open the match. The Buccaneers cruised to a first set victory. Barry hit .321 in the set and forced a -.120 hitting percentage for the Lakers. Six blocks would be the biggest difference maker in the set.Fuhrer and Jeremy Ferreira had three block assists each. | Barry 25, Roosevelt 15
- Set Two - In set two, it was Roosevelt who came out on top first taking advantage of a Buccaneer service error to open the set. The Bucs were unable to gain the lead at any point in the set and Roosevelt tied the match at one-all. Zachary Jabr had a great set with seven of the team's 12 kills. | Roosevelt 25, Barry 19
- Set Three - This was a tighter set with both team's trading points back and forth. Barry held the lead for the majority of the set, but after a tie at 20 the Lakers had a 5-2 run to close out the set and take the match lead. Jacob Strnisa was the attacking force in the set with seven kills, hitting .778 with no errors on nine attempts. Although the Bucs hit an impressive .400, Roosevelt hit ..560. | Roosevelt 25, Barry 22
- Set Four - It looked as if Barry would take the set and force a winner take all fifth set holding a short lead early. However, a 6-2 run would give enough breathing room for the Lakers to carry the set to the finish. Strnisa had another impressive set with six kills. Both teams struggled offensively, but the Bucs seven service errors did not help their case. Defensively, both had three blocks. | Roosevelt 25, Barry 22
NOTEWORTHY:
- Jacob Strnisa led on the offensive end with a Buccaneer career-high 17 kills.
- The kills tie for third most in a match in program history, and tied for most in a four-set match.
- Zachary Jabr had a career-high 15 kills and passed a perfect 25 services.
- Bobby Clapp set a new program record for digs in a match with 17.
- Tristan Blake had 36 assists and tied for the second most in a match and set a new program record for most in a four-setter.
- Statistically Barry led in kills, hitting percentage, and blocks.
