LAKE WALES, Fla. — Year two for the Barry Men's Volleyball program has officially come on Monday evening as they traveled to the Turner Athletic Center to take on Warner University. It was a welcome home for Coach Imanol Davila-Morales who is an alumnus of the Royals Men's Volleyball program. The Buccaneers took the opening match in a sweep with an identical score of 25-22 in every set.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - Barry's first points of they year were back to back blocks, from Maddox Gifford and Philip Tein. It was a back and forth set, but it was the Buccaneers who closed it out with a 4-1 run to take the match lead. Zachary Jabr and Tein each had a kill, while Barry capitalized on two Royals errors. | Barry 25, Warner 22
- Set Two - Barry had a steady lead early, that carried through the set. It was a balanced attack from the Buccaneers that gave them the two set lead. Barry hit .333 compared to the Royals .136. | Barry 25, Warner 22
- Set Three - The true test of the match came for Barry in the third set after being down by seven at 12-19. It looked like Warner was going to force a fourth set, that was until the Bucs went on a 7-0 run to tie things up at 19-all. The cherry on top was Jacob Strnisa getting a service ace. A 6-3 rally ended the match, Gifford put it a awy with the final kill. | Barry 25, Warner 22
NOTEWORTHY:
- Zachary Jabr led the way in kills with eight.
- Jacob Strnisa was right behind with seven in his Buccaneer debut.
- The Bucs rallied four blocks with Gifford, Tein, and Jabr having two each.
- Bobby Clapp led in digs with nine as the starting libero.
- Tristan Blake had 24 assists and went 3-for-3 on attacking attempts.
- Warner led in every statistical category.
- Barry is 3-0 over Warner all time, sweeping each match.
