ORLANDO, Fla. – Barry University Women's Volleyball player, Veronika Eremeeva has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference offensive volleyball player of the week presented by Pollo Campreo for the week of Sept. 22-28.
Eremeeva tallied a .400 hitting percentage while leading the Buccaneers to a 2-0 start in conference play, including a win at No. 1 Lynn. The Russian began the week with eight kills on 16 attempts with two errors in a sweep of Nova Southeastern. Eremeeva also provided Barry with four service aces, three blocks, and three digs in the win. In Barry's 3-1 upset at Lynn, the sophomore tallied 16 kills off 34 attempts with two errors, a match-high five blocks, a career-high five service aces, and five digs. For the week, Eremeeva totaled 24 kills and a .400 attack percentage while averaging 1.14 digs, 1.14 blocks, and 1.29 service aces per set. The weekly award is the third of her career and the second this season.
The Bucs are 9-0 for the fourth time in program history and will continue Sunshine State Conference play against Rollins and Eckerd this week, Friday and Saturday.
