MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University men's basketball team announced the addition of Ryan Van Eyck to the roster for the 2025-26 season.

"Ryan is someone that we locked in on early in the process," head coach Justin Furr said. "He possesses positional size, a high basketball IQ, and a team-first mentality that will drive our development. He has extensive FIBA National Team experience with the Netherlands and a season of Division I competition under his belt. His physical tools bode well for our ability to switch defensively and his ability to touch paint will generate drive and kick opportunities. We look forward to welcoming the Van Eycks to BarryU."

A 6-6 guard, Ryan spent last year as a reserve for NCAA Division I Incarnate World. Only appearing in eight contests, and with very limited minutes, he is full of potential. In the limited minutes played, Ryan averaged 8.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 3.2 steals per 36 minutes.

Before his time at Incarnate World, he appeared in two FIBA Championships representing The Netherlands. During the U18 European Championships in 2023, he averaged 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists. He also appeared in the 2024 U20 European Championships.

"When I visited Barry, everything just felt right," Van Eyck said. "The people were invested, the environment made me feel at home, and my relationship with Coach Furr is genuine. It was obvious from the first call that he believed in me. I know that he will help make me a better player and person. I am focused on being the best I can be on the court, in the classroom, and in the community."

The Buccaneers are coming off a 12-17 season and a Sunshine State Conference Tournament appearance.
