ORLANDO, FL – The Sunshine State Conference has announced their All-SSC volleyball teams as well as superlative awards for the 2025 season. Barry Women's Volleyball placed four student-athletes across the three teams. Valeriya Kozlova stole the show being named the SSC Player of the Year and SSC Freshman of the Year for the first time in league history in the sport of volleyball for the same season. She is the first Buccaneer to win both honors overall. It is just the 11th time four or more Buccaneers have been named to the All-SSC team in the same season.
Kozlova was the only freshman on the All-SSC First-Team and was only one of two freshmen to be named to any all-conference team. It is the third straight year Barry has won the freshman of the year honor, sixth overall. The Bucs are just the second school to win three or more in a row. It is the 12th time the Buccaneers earn player of the year honors, Kozlova becomes the eighth-different player to do so. The freshman also brought home five SSC Offensive Player of the Week honors and was named the AVCA NCAA Division II National Player of the Week twice this season.
During conference play, Kozlova was first in points per set (5.93) and second in points (427), kills (367), and kills per set (5.10) against league competition. She was also fourth in attack attempts (829) and fifth in hitting percentage (.331). Additionally, Kozlova finished Top-20 in SSC blocks (54), blocks per set (.75), service aces (28), and service aces per set (.39).
Veronika Eremeeva earned her second straight All-SSC First Team recognition. The sophomore has had a more efficient season following up her SSC Freshman of the Year campaign. Eremeeva averaged 3.55 kills per set (5th in the SSC) and collected 199 kills in league action. She was second in service aces per set at 0.61 with 34 total in 56 sets played. Eremeeva finished fourth in the conference for points per set at 4.56. This season, she was named SSC Offensive Player of the Week twice.
For the third consecutive year, Varvara Osychenko was named to the All-SSC Second Team. Osychenko kicked off what is now the three-peat for Barry winning FOTY honors in 2022. The junior started all 20 matches in SSC play having a 2.20 kills per set, 2.36 digs per set, 40 blocks, and 19 service aces. Overall, she has already set a new single season high in blocks at 55. Osychenko becomes the 12th player in program history to collect three or more all-conference honors.
Middle hitter, Ivana Zujovic rounds out the all-conference honorees with a third-team placement. The junior has had her best season thus far as a Buc setting new single season high in kills, k/s, assists, digs, block solos, block assists, total blocks and points. In conference play, Zujovic was fourth in the conference in blocks per set at 1.01 and third in blocks with 77 total. She earned SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors once this year. This is her fist career All-Sunshine State Conference honor.
