BOCA RATON, Fla.-- The Barry Buccaneers men's golf team captured their third consecutive, seventh overall SSC Title after carding -18 (275-288-283--846) at the Osprey Point GC on Tuesday afternoon.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Albin Ekvall (-10) (65-72-69--206) 2nd Place
- Ekvall's -10 makes him the fourth Buccaneer to finish at least 10 strokes under par at the conference championship. AJ Ewart (-16) in 2023, Kyle Brey (-12) in 2017, Carlos Velez (-10) in 2010 and Felipe Alvarez (-10) in 2023.
- His -10 score after three rounds puts him fifth all time in SSC championship history.
- Ekvall's -7 first round is the third best single round score in SSC Championship history. It is his best single round score of the entire season.
- Tied for second best in par-3 scoring (-2) among all golfers.
- Tied third-best in par-5 scoring (-7) among all golfers.
- Led Barry in pars (38) and birdies (13).
- He has two top-three finishes on the year and three top-ten finishes on the year.
Miikka Makinen (-8) (65-71-72--208) 3rd Place
- Makinen's round 1 score of 65 (-7), is the fourth best round in SSC Championship history. It is also his best single round of the entire season.
- His score of -8 after three rounds, ranks him 14th all time in SSC Championship history.
- Carded -2 on par-3s, -3 on par-4s and -3 on par-5s.
- Totaled 35 pars and 12 birdies.
- One of ten golfers to record an eagle.
- Now has four top-ten finishes and two top-three finishes on the season.
JP Ducruet (+2) (77-71-70--218) 25th Place
- Tied second best par-3 score (-2) among all golfers.
- Carded -1 on par-5 holes.
- Totaled 33 pars and 11 birdies.
Amani D'Ambrosio (+3) (71-76-72--219) T-26th Place
- Totaled 37 pars and eight birdies.
Ethan Gough (+5) (74-74-73--221) T-35th Place
- Totaled 35 pars and eight birdies.

RESULTS
NOTEWORTHY:
- With the SSC title, the Bucs automatically qualify for the regional tournament.
- Barry has won three consecutive SSC Championships. They are the first team to do so since Florida Southern won five in a row from 1997-2001.
- Barry now has seven team titles since 2000, which is the most of any team in the conference.
- -18 is the 6th best team score in tournament history. The Bucs hold four of the top five marks and five of the six.
- With Ekvall and Makinen finishing in the top-five, Barry now has 31 top-five finishes, behind Florida Southern's 49.
- There had only been 16 times where a team shot -10 or better for the three-round tournament. Six of the ten teams did it in this years tournament.
