WARREN, Ohio -- The No.2 ranked Barry Buccaneers men's golf team used a 2-under par second round, to climb to second place in the NCAA Nationals at the Avalon Lakes Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. Barry is -3 (287-286--573) after two rounds of play.
The Bucs were able to climb two spots from yesterday's first round and now sit 10 strokes behind first place Oklahoma Christian (-13), who shot a tournament-low -11 in round two.
The lone Buc sitting in the top-ten is AJ Ewart after he used a 4-under round two, to climb one spot and now sits T-7th.
Nicolas Quintero had a big day after carding -2 in round two, climbing 24 spots and now ranks T-25th.
The Bucs, making their 15th trip to the national finals, are looking to capture their fourth national title.
Barry, joined by 19 other teams and 103 golfers, is looking to be one of the top eight teams after three rounds of stroke play which will advance to match play starting on Thursday.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry is top-five among all teams in par-3 (+5), par-4 (+14) and par-5 (-16) scoring.
- Barry leads field in total pars with 116.
- Amani D'Ambrosio and Santiago Chamorro are both E on par-3 holes, which leads the Bucs.
- Felipe Alvarez is the lone Buc under par on par-4 holes (-1).
- All five Bucs were under par on par-5 holes.
