DAVIE, Fla. -- The No.2-ranked Barry Buccaneers posted a solid first round at the NCAA D2 South/Southeast Regional on Thursday, May. 11, posting a 276(-8) to finish the day in third place at -11 and just four strokes behind leader Shorter University (-12).
Two Bucs sit in the top-five as Felipe Alvarez and AJ Ewart carded the best rounds for the Bucs, both scored a 67 (-4) in round one to finish the day in a tie for third. Every Buccaneer finished even or under on the day.
The clubhouse is flush with talent as seven of the top-ten teams in the country are joined by twelve other ranked teams to compete for six spots in the NCAA DII National Championship.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry is fourth among all teams in par-3 scoring at -1.
- The Bucs carded -2 on par-4 holes, which is good for third among all teams.
- Ewart was one of six individuals to record an eagle.
