BROOKSVILLE, Fla.-- AJ Ewart extended his school record with his 11th career win, as he finished -11 (66-70-69--205) at The Griffin Invitational on Tuesday. Second-ranked Barry finished second in the 13-team field at -10.
It was a stacked field with five Top-20 teams in the field. Seventh-ranked West Florida ran away with the team trophy, leading wire-to-wire at -16.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
AJ Ewart (-11) (69-70-69--205) 1st Place
- It was Ewart's first tournament win this season, after tying the school single season-record last year with seven
- It was his 11th career win, extending his career record set last year
- Ewart tied for the lead with 49 par or better holes during the event
- For the 54-hole tournament, he recorded 33 par holes and a tournament-best 16 birdies
- He was second on both par-4 and par-5 scoring and tied for fourth on par-3
- He was one of only four golfers in the field who was under-par on all three holes
Nicolas Quintero (-5) (71-71-70--211) 5th Place
- One of nine golfers in the field, and three Buccaneers to finish under par
- Also finished under-par on all three holes
- Tied for the lead in par-3 scoring
- Tied Ewart with 49 par or better holes, 39 par and 10 birdies
Felipe Alvarez (-2) (73-71-70--214) T-7th Place
- Third Buccaneer to finished in the red
- Tied for fourth in the field with 12 birdies
- Had 47 par or better holes
Santiago Chamorro (+8) (75-73-73--224) T-39th Place
- Led the field with 41 pars
- Added three birdies for 44 par or better holes

NOTEWORTHY:
- Led in both par-3 and par-4 scoring
- Barry was the only team under par on par-3 holes at -1.
- The Bucs were -4 on par-5 holes, placing fifth
- West Florida was an amazing -19 on par-5 holes, but +13 on par-3 and par-4 combined
- West Florida led the field with 228 par or better holes, while Barry was second with 227 and Nova Southeastern was third at 220
