MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry men's basketball coach Butch Estes announced the second signee for the upcoming season in North Broward Prep's wing forward Adren Roberts.

"Adren is a very talented wing player who will help us tremendously on the perimeter," Estes said. "There are many strong attributes to his game, but perhaps the strongest is on the defensive end of the floor. He has great length and strength, making him an outstanding defender. He's also very versatile, able to play three of the five positions. Additionally, he brings a maturity and strength of character that belies his age. I think he will be a great leader for us."

Roberts led North Broward Prep to a 27-3 mark and the regional semifinals last season. He averaged 9.6 points and 5.5 rebounds for the very balanced Eagles. He shot 52 percent from the floor, including 40 percent from three-point range, and 73 percent from the line, and added a steal and 1.2 blocks per game.

"Barry was a place that just felt like home," Roberts said. "I felt like I could excel there both academically and athletically. Additionally, it was close to home and my family, which was important to me. Academically, they have a great program in my major, international business. Athletically, I've been watching a lot of flim on them and I really like their style, with a fast pace and really getting after it on defense and the way they play together."

Roberts joins point guard Karson Jenkins, who signed in the early period, in the Bucs' class for 2022-23.
