MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--Barry University assistant athletic trainer Sydney Neighbors was selected to provide medical coverage for the 2021 16U/17U National Team Development Program scheduled to take place August 6-9 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. 

Neighbors will coordinate daily tasks in terms of recovery and preventative care along with managing appointments for the 44 athletes named to the program.

It is not her first foray into national team athletics. She prior worked with USA bobsled, skeleton, luge, aerial ski and biathlon at th4e Lake Placid Training Center in New York in 2016-17. 

Neighbors is entering her second season with the Buccaneers after working at Radford in Virigina and at North Carolina-Greensboro. At Barry, she is the primary contact for the baseball team. She has also covered women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, and softball at her previous stops.
