COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Barry University's second-ranked men's golf team finished the tournament in ninth place at eleven-over par at the Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC hosted by Columbus State on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers recorded rounds of 283-286-294--863 (+11), tying Limestone for ninth. Barry stormed out of the gate, sitting in a tie for third after the first round but couldn't keep up the momentum in the following rounds. A bright spot for the Bucs was sophomore Felipe Alvarez finishing at even par and in a tie for 17th place.Â
Georgia Southwestern and Florida Southern tied at 848 (-4), with GSW winning the tie-breaker to take the title. Lynn finished a stroke back in third place, while Saint Leo finished at even par in fourth.
Vincent Norrman of Georgia Southwestern took home the individual trophy at seven-under-par. Zach Zediker of Deltas State and Jordan Dull of host CSU were one stroke back, tied for second.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING:
"Disappointing start but there is a long way to go," said head coach Jimmy Stobs, "Nobody remembers who wins the Cougar Invitational. We need to work harder."

- The Bucs recorded three eagles, good for the second most of the field.
- Barry also recorded the seventh most pars with 168.
- Alvarez finished in a tie for second on Par Threes at two-under-par.
