Barry Athletics Posts Academics Record

All 12 teams clear 3.0 Margin

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Each of the 12 Barry University varsity athletic teams posted a fall term team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

At the conclusion of the fall 2017 semester, 74.6 percent of the student-athletes posted cumulative GPAs above 3.0, which is the highest ever recorded fall term average, and the second highest between fall and spring.

Eleven of Barry's athletic teams finished the fall term with a cume GPA over 3.0. The average team cume GPA for the fall term was 3.301.

Barry's softball team topped the charts for both term GPA and cume GPA, following the fall semester. Their term GPA was 3.698, while the team's cume GPA was 3.67.

The reigning national champions, women's tennis and golf, find themselves amongst the top four in both categories at the conclusion of the fall semester. Women's golf finished second behind softball in both term (3.596) and cume (3.638) GPA average. Women's tennis was fourth in term GPA (3.497) and third in cume GPA (3.545).

The Buccaneers men's golf team performed the best in the classroom of all the men's five teams with a term GPA of 3.484 and cumulative GPA of 3.343.
