Barry (12-5, 5-4 in the Sunshine State Conference) looks to get back on the winning side after dropping a pair of games last week to regionally-ranked opponents (78-66 to #4 Florida Southern and 77-51 to #5 Embry-Riddle). The Bucs are currently ranked seventh in the D2SIDA South Region Women's Basketball Poll.
Though Kiara Palmer leads the Bucs in scoring (15.5), rebounding (9.8), shooting (56.8) and blocked shots (3.0), she has seen her production wane since scoring 23 points against Tampa on Dec. 9. In the last eight games, she has topped 20 points just once, after scoring 20+ in three of the first nine. Barbara Cousiño is second on the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game. She leads the team with 2.8 assists per game and the conference in free throw shooting (86.3). Ida Andersson, coming off one of her best games of the season, is averaging 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Knights (7-9, 3-6 SSC) have won five of their last seven games, including win over both Eckerd (68-65) and Embry-Riddle (72-52) at home.
The Knights are guard-led as three of their top four scorers are in the backcourt. Leader Paola Vazquez Concepcion averages 14.9 points per game. Point guard Jaylen Snipes chips in 12.1 points per game and a team-best 3.5 assists per game. Freshman forward Juju Uloma adds 8.5 points and leads the team on the boards at 6.1 per game, despite coming off the bnech in every game.
GAME NOTES:
- Barry leads the all-time series 30-20 and has won six of the last eight, including the last four at home.
- Last season, they split the series with each winning at home. Barry prevailed 51-47 in Miami Shores and Lynn won 54-51 in Boca Raton.
- Despite leading the conference in made three-pointers at 9.1 per game, the Bucs average 26.0 points per game in the paint
- Barry averages 20.5 points per game off the bench, compared to just 13.5 per game for the opponents
- The Knights are just 1-6 on the road, while Barry is 10-1 at home.

Men's Basketball - Wednesday, Jan. 17, 7:30 pm, Health & Sports Center
Barry (11-3, 7-2 SSC) will try to rebound against rival Lynn. The Buccaneers, who have lost two of their past three, are 2-0 after a loss this season. This will be their third opportunity to bounce back from defeat. The Bucs still have a one-game lead in the conference.
In Barry's three losses this year, the Buccaneers have shot under 48 percent – the primary reason they're slightly under 50 percent from the field this season. Barry's loss at Embry-Riddle on Saturday was its first road setback of the season. The Bucs attempted just one free throw in the game – an "and one" by Marko Tomic with just under 4:00 to play.
Tomic is coming off one of his stronger games this season after scoring 14 points and pulling down five rebounds in 21 minutes. He was 6 of 8 from the field. It was the fifth time he's scored in double figures this season. Daniel Mortensen matched a career-high with 27 points, marking the third straight game he's been in double figures. Sawyer Glick has scored in double figures the past two games. He's hit three triples in each of his last three games. David Moya has averaged seven assists in his last two games – both starts.
Lynn (8-7, 5-4) has played some of its best basketball of late, having won four in a row. The Fighting Knights' last three games have been decided by one or two possessions. The Fighting Knights have not lost in January, and that includes a win over previously-ranked Eckerd and Embry-Riddle, whom the Bucs stumbled against Saturday.
Lynn's Jamal Palmer leads the Fighting Knights in scoring (14.2 ppg). Ryan Peterson is averaging 11.4 points. Randy Bell is scoring 10.7 points per game, and Brandon Bornelus 10.6. Rasheed Worrell is the team's leading rebounder at 7.3 per game. He is grabbing 8.6 boards per game in conference play.
