MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team will play at Eckerd 7 p.m. Friday and at No. 24 Saint Leo 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Buccaneers (9-9, 5-8 Sunshine State Conference) are hoping to carry over the momentum from Saturday's win over Florida Tech. Eckerd (12-9, 5-8) beat the Bucs in the first meeting this season, but Barry has a chance to move ahead of the Tritons in the conference race if it can put together a good win on the road.
Saint Leo (16-5, 10-3) have won four in a row, including a big one over then-No. 3 Palm Beach Atlantic on the road last week. The Lions are positioning for their postseason hopes, but a win by the Bucs could shake things up.
Eckerd's Mackenzie Redner has 123 kills, and Abbie O'Ferrell for the Tritons. Arielle Erillo leads the conference in aces per set at 0.44, and has 34 this year. Fernanda Reiss is averaging 10.08 assists per set, which is ranked third in the league. Kaitlyn Sibson's 5.29 digs per set is second in the SSC.
Saint Leo's Victoria Omoregie has 205 kills, Ashley Quero has 204, and Britt Sederholm 152. Anna Garrett is averaging 9.27 assists per set. Annabella Acari has 47 blocks, and is hitting .257.
Barry's
Kristina Filimonova has 76 blocks, and is hitting .310.
Kishara Gordon ranks third in the league with a .339 attack percentage.
Juliana Tirabassi is coming off a career-high 59 assists.
Jaeda Allen is averaging 3.00 kills per set.Â
