MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University men's basketball players Adrian Gonzalez and Elvar Fridriksson were named to the Bevo Francis Award Watch List. They are two of the top 100 players in the nation, accoring to Small College Basketball.

The award recognizes the top small college basketball player in the country. Last year, star Yunio Barrueta was a finalist.

Gonzalez, a senior forward from Miami, is averaging 22.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and shooting 65 percent from the floor. He is fourth in the country in total field goals made (142) and ranks ninth in shooting percentage.

Fridriksson, a junior guard from Njardvik, Iceland, is averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 assists and shooting .896 from the free throw line. He ranks fifth in the nation in assists per game and sixth in total assists (122). 

The award list will be cut to 50 players Feb. 15. 

The Bucs will play at Tampa Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Barry returns home Jan. 25 versus Florida Tech.
