Jole Named Men's Golf All-America Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. – Barry University senior men's golfer Berry Jole was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Jole graduated in May with a degree in finance. He was named to the Dean's List (3.5 to 3.9) in the spring after being named to the Athletic Director's List (3.0 to 3.49) in the fall. 

On the course, the Rysuhout, Netherlands native had three top-10 finishes, including a tie for third at the Warner Invitational and seventh place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional when he shot 75-67-72 -- 214. His second round 67 was a career-low. Jole had a 73.53 stroke average in 12 tournaments in 2014-15. He made 96 birdies and two eagles in his 12 appearances, had a .636 greens in regulation percentage and .622 fairways hit ratio. He reached the highest national rating of his career this season, finishing 79th.

Jole posted a career scoring average of 73.73 with one tournament victory and eight rounds in the 60s. In 2014, he clinched the Buccaneers second straight NCAA Championship when he won his match in the finals.

A total of 206 players in NCAA Division I, 91 in Division II and 17 in NAIA earned the honor. Additionally, 34 honorees were added to the previously released Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
