Miami Shores, Fla. -- Barry women's soccer goalkeeper Paula Forero was named Defensive Player of the Week after posting six saves in a pair of Barry wins.

Against Nova Southeastern, Forero stopped four shots and secured the shutout victory. The 2-0 win over NSU locked Barry into the No. 1 seed for the SSC postseason tournament.

In non-conference play, Barry defeated Palm Beach Atlantic, 4-1. In 81 minutes in goal, Forero stopped two PBA shots and allowed one goal. Barry is 11-2-1 overall and finished SSC play at 6-1-1.

The honor adds to an already impressive year for the junior, who has made 44 saves in 14 starts and has eight shutouts to her credit.

Forero will aim to continue protecting the Barry net on Wednesday, the 28^th as the Buccaneers take on Embry-Riddle in their last regular season game of the year. Game is slated to kickoff at 6 pm at Buccaneer Field.
