MELBOURNE, Fla. -- The Barry University softball team (28-18, 10-8 SSC) split a Sunshine State Conference double-header with the Florida Tech Panthers (31-11, 10-8 SSC) earlier this afternoon at Varsity Field. The Buccaneers won the first game 2-0, then fell in the nightcap 1-0.  
In the first game, the Buccaneers scattered nine hits over seven innings and plated single runs in the fourth and sixth innings for the 2-0 win. 
Samantha Zadel (Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) went two-for-three and 
Holli Davis (Fr., Lake Havasu, Ariz.) went two-for-four to lead the Bucs at the plate. 
Maile Keeney (So., Longwood, Fla.) and 
Amanda Moore (Jr., St. Louis, Mo.) each collected a hit and an RBI each.  
Barry's Elizabeth Bennett (So., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) hurled her second career no-hitter. She went seven innings, walked one and struck out two. The only other batter to reach base was on an infield error. Florida Tech's Jenny Buckman (7-5) suffered the loss for the Panthers giving up nine hits, two runs and struck out six.  
In the nightcap, the Buccaneers saw the third different pitcher in three games facing off with Florida Tech's Amber West who hurled a one-hit shutout. She went seven innings, gave up one hit and struck out six. Laura Chisena went one-for-one with an RBI to lift the Panthers to the 1-0 win.  
Ramie Garcia (Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) suffered the loss for Barry. She went seven innings, gave up one run on five hits and struck out four. West (10-2) earned the win for the Panthers.  
The Buccaneers return to the friendly confines of Buccaneer Field on Friday, Apr. 22 hosting the Eckerd Tritons in the first game of a three-game SSC series.
