BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Barry University softball team (25-16, 9-6 SSC) lost a heartbreaking Sunshine State Conference match-up against the Lynn Fighting Knights (29-6, 15-3 SSC) 3-2 in eight innings earlier today at the McCusker Sportsplex.  
The Buccaneers took advantage of two Tiffani King errors in the third inning and scored twice to take a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Barry carried the lead into the bottom of the seventh, but two back-to-back RBI doubles from Danielle Curcio and Jennie Scott respectively tied the game at two apiece to send the game into extra innings. Finally in the bottom of the eight, Lynn's Alex Acosta belted a lead-off, walk-off home run to lift the Fighting Knights to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Buccaneers.  
Ramie Garcia (Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) suffered the loss for Barry giving up three runs on seven hits and struck out three, while Lynn's Amiee Murch (27-3) earned the win for the Knights allowing five hits and struck out seven.  
Holli Davis (Fr., Lake Havasu, Ariz.) went two-for-four with an RBI to lead Barry, while Scott finished the game two-for-four with an RBI to lead Lynn.  
Barry will return to the friendly confines of Buccaneer Field on Tuesday, Apr. 12 hosting Palm Beach Atlantic at 5 pm.
