Box Score MIAMI SHORES, FLA. -- The fourth-ranked Barry University volleyball team dominated their third consecutive match trouncing the Nova Southeastern Knights 3-0 earlier tonight at the Health & Sports Center.
The Bucs opened play with an 11-3 run on the Knights, while
Fernanda Brino served up five aces in the Bucs' 30-18 game one domination. Earning her first career start,
Jentry Redinger tallied six of her seven kills in game two as the Bucs sailed past the Knights in the second game 30-18. The Bucs went on to close out the match 30-17 in the final game.
Kelly Dantas led all hitters with 11 kills and a .600 hitting percentage and five total blocks. Brino finished just two kills away from a triple-double. In addition to her 11 digs, her 11 service aces ranks second on Barry's single season list. Redinger finished with a season-high seven kills and a .294 hitting percentage, while
Daniela Lanza directed the Bucs with a game-high 24 assists.
Lisa Parker led the Knights with seven kills and a .286 attack percentage.
The Bucs improved to 8-2 overall while the Knights fell to 5-9 on the year. The Buccaneers will open Sunshine State Conference play on Thursday, Sept. 25 in Melbourne, Fla. taking on the feisty FIT Panthers on their home court. Match time is slated for 7 pm.
