Box Score KENNESAW, Ga.--The Barry Buccaneers fell 1-0 to the #2-ranked Kennesaw State Owls on Saturday at the KSU Soccer Field.

The Owls (23-1-0) struck for their goal early in the second period after a scoreless first half saw both teams miss opportunities. Jeane Gzehoviak crossed the ball in from the right wing and Alissa Saylor fed Laura Taylor in front of the goal for the score.

Barry (16-5-3) missed a golden opportunity to tie the game with just under three minutes to play. Emelie Karlsson slotted a shot past Owls keeper Jesica Marek, but it went for naught when Barry was whistled for offsides.

Johanna Fischer stopped four shots for Barry, while Marek had five saves for the Owls. Barry had a big edge, 7-1, in corner kicks but failed to convert.

Kennesaw State now advances to the NCAA Division II National Finals in Virginia Beach, Va., for the first time in the two-year history of the program.
