Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--The Barry University women's soccer team tamed the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions 2-0 at the UNF Wingate Inn Labor Day Classic Saturday afternoon.

Junior transfer Marie Gunnarsson scored her first goal as a Buccaneer in the 27th minute to put Barry up 1-0. Britt Miazgowicz assisted on the goal as the Bucs led 1-0 at the half.

In the second half, Barry got an insurance goal from Miazgowicz with an assist from Tammie Thornton with 20 minutes left to play.

The Buccaneers were never really tested, holding a 16-4 advantage in shots and 4-2 edge in corners.

Keeper Johanna Fischer made two saves to notch her second straight shutout and run her consecutive scoreless minutes streak to 246 minutes. Sarah Fagan had four saves for the Lions.

The Buccaneers improved to 3-0-0, while the Lions fell to 2-1-0. The Bucs face the Indians of Catawba College on Monday at 2:00 pm.
