Box Score DENVER, CO – The Barry University women's soccer team dominated Metropolitan State running away from the Roadrunners 3-0 early Sunday afternoon.
It appeared the Buccaneers were going to have a close encounter with the Roadrunners with neither team able to find the back of the net in the first half.
However, early in the second half,
Marie Gunnarsson scored her third goal of the season off a double assist from
Amy Tewis and
Pamela McDonald to lift the Buccaneers 1-0 over the Roadrunners at the 46:10 mark.
Later in the second half the Buccaneers found a scoring edge getting goals from Ericka O'Brien at 72:05 and
Ashley Snell (
Nicole Ruiz and
Stephanie O'Brien assist) at 76:47 to seal the victory for the Buccaneers 3-0.
Buccaneer goalkeepers
Johanna Fischer and
Amy Gibson split time with neither catching a save.
The Buccaneers improved to 9-3-0 overall while the Roadrunners fell to 4-9-1.
The Buccaneers will return to Sunshine State Conference play on Friday, October 12th as the host Lynn University at 7:00 p.m.
