A senior from East Rockaway, N.Y., James Montgomery is the first men's basketball player to win the male scholar-athlete award since Magne Fivelstad in 2013. He compiled a 3.93 GPA in business management. He averaged 11.1 points and 5.9 rebounds, while shooting 50.3 percent from the field. It is the 11th award for men's basketball, but just the second since 2001.
