MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Another successful theme night has come and gone for the Barry women's volleyball team as they opened Sunshine State Conference play against rival Lynn. The 11th-ranked Buccaneers swept the 12th-ranked Fighting Knights for their sixth straight win, continued to defend home court, and picked up their third win against a ranked opponent this season.

SUMMARY:
- Set One – The match began with a service error from Lynn that got the crowd going early. Ivana Žujovic continued her block party with a solo block for back-to-back points. The big late push came from Valeriya Kozlova who had two service aces and Varvara Osychenko put away two kills to gain a 20-14 advantage. An attack error ended the set in favor of the Bucs. - Set Two – Lynn took the first point, but the Bucs rallied off three straight, with kills from Veronika Eremeeva and McKayla Theleus. Barry then had an uphill battle as they fell behind 3-7. Frankie Good brought a spark in the middle with two kills in a 4-0 run that tied things up at seven-all. The Bucs were able to finally flip the scoreboard back in their favor with the offensive triple threat in action. Osychenko, Eremeeva has back-to-back kills and Kozlova added on another ace. - Set Three – Osychenko continued to pour it on with a kill to start the third set. It was a tight start, but Barry broke away with back-to-back triple-blocks from Eremeeva, Zujovic, and Thalia Iglesias. The Bucs finished the set scoring on five of the last seven points. Eremeeva sealed the deal with an ace. The block party was in full effect, with seven in the set. | Barry 25, Lynn 17
NOTEWORTHY:
- Osychenko and Eremeeva led the way with 10 kills each.
- Osychenko added to her stat line with five digs and a block.
- Eremeeva had three service aces, three assists, and three blocks.
- Kozlova tied her career-high with four service aces, while adding six kills on a .400 swing percentage.
- Zujovic continues to lead the front line with six blocks, bringing her career total to 297, three shy of moving into ninth all-time.
- Petra Brkicic and Thalia Iglesias split the setter role with 12 and 11 assists, respectively.
- Alondra Lebron set a new career-high in digs with 14.
- As a team, it was the third time in double-digits for blocks with 11.
