MIAMI SHORES, Fla.— Juan Pablo Correa joined the men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2026, after playing three seasons for the Buccaneers and one at NCAA Division I FIU, head coach Petsa Ivanovic announced on Friday.

"We are extremely happy to bring Juan Pablo to our coaching staff," Ivanovic said. "As someone who has spent three seasons with us as a player, he completely understands our style of play and our philosophy both on and off the field. He is a very hard-working and humble person and embodies all the values that we are trying to portray as the coaching staff. His experience as a player and a youth soccer coach will help us bring fresh energy and ideas into the new season. Juan knows what it takes to win the toughest conference in the NCAA DII and his experiences from the 2022 and 2023 title winning seasons will be invaluable to our players."  

Correa came to Barry in 2022 as a freshman, after transferring from Miami-Dade College. He was the only player to play in all 20 games that season, as the Bucs advanced to the NCAA Final Four.

After his sophomore season in 2023, in which he played in 18 of 19 matches as the Bucs won the Sunshine State Conference regular season and tournament championships, he moved as a graduate transfer to FIU, earning a master's degree in recreation and sport management.

He returned to the Shores in 2025, playing in 12 games for the Bucs with one goal and two assists. During his career at Barry, he was regularly a member of the Dean's List, the SSC Commisioner's Honor Roll and earned CSC Academic All-District.

After completing his collegiate career, he spent six months with Caguas Sporting FC in Puerto Rico as a professional player.

In addition to his playing accomplishments, he has served as a youth coach. He spent three years with Barça Academy Pro Miami, working with the U7, U8 and U10 squads as head coach. From 2024 to 2026, he was the JV head coach at Westminster Christian School.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Barry in 2024 in sport management, and is still working on an MBA in international business from Barry as a second master's.
