MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Rhodes Conroy has joined the men's lacrosse staff for the inaugural season.
"I am excited to welcome Coach Conroy to our men's lacrosse program here at Barry University," head coach Alex Williams said. "Rhodes has demonstrated an outstanding ability to connect with his players and build strong relationships that allow them to excel both on and off the field. He has built a reputation amongst his peers for his work ethic, relentless recruiting efforts, mind for the game, and commitment to mentoring student athletes in their academic success. I am thrilled for Rhodes to join our program, I know he will play an instrumental role as we continue to establish and build Barry Men's Lacrosse."
He comes to The Shores from Lander in South Carolina, where he served as a graduate assistant for the Bearcats from August of 2025 through the 2026 season. He designed and implemented offensive schemes that have resulted in a 34.3 percent offensive efficiency (6th nationally) through 11 games and assisted with practice planning, film breakdown, in-game strategy and opponent scouting. He provided mentorship to student-athletes with an emphasis on character/player development, actionable feedback, accountability, personal and team goal setting.
Prior to and concurrently with Lander, he worked during the summers with BJ's Bandits lacrosse club out of Kalamazoo, Mich., in the summers of 2021 through 2025. As the head coach of the U12, U14 and Varsity U18 squads, he led the team selection process, development of practice plans, scouting opponents and game strategy preparation. He focused on player development and made every effort to pass along and instill a passion for the game of lacrosse to the players.
"I am grateful and excited to start at Barry University as the assistant coach for the men's lacrosse program," Conroy said. "This is an incredible opportunity to help build something special from the ground up, develop a strong culture, and represent a University committed to excellence. I look forward to getting to work and can't wait for what's ahead. Go Bucs!"
A four-year starter at Lincoln Memorial University, serving as a three-year Team Captain, he finished tied for second all-time in program scoring with 182 career points, including 128 goals and 54 assists in 61 games played.
The men will take the field for the first time in the spring of 2027, competing in the Sunshine State Conference.
