Tryout FAQ
How to arrange a tryout?
Tryouts are by invitation only and the required pre-participation forms can only be accessed by someone who is invited by the coaching staff to tryout. Please contact the lacrosse office to begin the process. No tryouts will be held until the spring of 2026.
What are the requirements for a high school student to tryout?
The prospective student-athlete may participate in a tryout beginning June 15 immediately preceding the prospective student-athlete's junior year in high school. In addition, he/she can only participate in a tryout if he/she is in a term other than a term of his/her traditional high school season.
What are the requirements for a transfer student to tryout?
A prospective student-athlete who is currently attending another four-year institution must have a release from that institution's athletic department regardless of whether or not he/she is a student-athlete.
Is a physical required?
Yes, all prospective student-athletes (high school, transfer and current Barry students) must have a physical which has been completed within the past six months by a licensed physician.Â
Candidates interested in applying to be on the coaching staff will need to apply through the University portal once the positions are posted. Posts are expected by Aug. 1, 2025.
